History

Our Brotherhood was established in 1964 by Norman E. Gates who followed the philosophy of ancient wine brotherhoods by honoring wine, country and mankind.  He created our organization to unite those people who produce wine, those who sell it, and those who appreciate it.  Mr. Gates, who is now deceased, retired in 1995 at the age of 76 and was replaced by Michael D. Doukas who led our Brotherhood until 2006.  Our current Grand Commander is Terrance McCleerey.

There are currently 25 chapters in major cities across the United States. You will find camaraderie with people who love wine in your local chapter as well as when you have an opportunity to travel and visit other chapters here and abroad.
